FLIR Introduces the FLIR Ocean Scout TK Thermal Vision Monocular for Boaters

Today FLIR announced the FLIR Ocean Scout TK, the marine industry’s first sub-$600, pocket-sized thermal vision monocular. Shown for the first time today at the Miami International Boat Show, the FLIR Ocean Scout TK, enabled by FLIR’s revolutionary low-cost Lepton micro camera core, is making thermal imaging technology even more accessible to boaters.

The smallest and most affordable model in the FLIR Ocean Scout series, the FLIR Ocean Scout TK creates high-contrast images using heat, rather than visible light. As a result, FLIR Ocean Scout TK makes it possible to see the differences in temperature and heat emitted by boats, buoys, and landmarks in total darkness. The FLIR Ocean Scout TK also reveals people overboard and marine mammals breaking the surface of the water.

Pocket-sized and designed for one-handed use, the FLIR Ocean Scout TK is designed to withstand rain, wind, and even a drop in shallow water. The latest monocular can also store up to 1,000 JPEG images and four hours of video. With a five-hour rechargeable internal battery, the FLIR Ocean Scout TK is the perfect on-the-water companion.

The Ocean Scout TK will be available worldwide through established FLIR dealers for $599 USD in the first quarter of 2016. For more information, or to preregister, visit
