FLIR Partner Pixel Velocity Takes Home Award

By: Mark Boccella, Business Development Manager, Optical Gas Imaging (OGI)

The 2016 Oil and Gas Awards are in full swing. With the industry winners of the Northeast and Rocky Mountains announced, I'd like to take a moment to recognize one of our valuable partners for the innovative work leveraging FLIR's latest IR sensor technology.

Sensor and analytics company, Pixel Velocity took home the Northeast's award for the New Technology Development of the year - Product, for their remote monitoring and integrated Leak Detection System (LDS).

The Pixel Velocity Leak Detection System (LDS) system, which is powered by FLIR's G300a Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) sensor, can automatically detect, visualize, and pinpoint hydrocarbon and methane leaks in a variety of industrial environments. This novel concept streamlines Oil & Gas operations by protecting profits, improving health & safety standards, and reducing environmental impacts.

This is only the beginning! As we move into the next evolution of our Gas Detection business, we see fixed installations of FLIR OGI sensors for critical asset monitoring as a key step to enhancing Leak Detection & Repair (LDAR) programs around the world. This data combined with inspection data from FLIR handheld cameras (GF-Series) and archived in Pixel Velocity's unique Event Velocity ecosystem will provide industry operators with the necessary tools to improve overall process reliability and promote enhanced site safety.

Congratulations to a great partner on their well-deserved award!
